I am passionate about empowering busy, exhausted women to reclaim their energy and learn to navigate their health and lifestyle in their 30s, 40s, and 50s and feel fantastic, because I realise how much I tolerated, under the misconception I was 'healthy';
Working to the point of burnout and poor mental health
Not prioritising self-care, and thinking it was normal to spend a weekend in bed to get over a busy work week
People pleasing tendencies that pushed me outside of my values and priorities to a person I no longer recognised
Stress disrupting my sleep, so topping up with caffeine and sugar was the only thing to me through the day
Eating 'healthy' food, but not enough of it leaving me nutrient deficient and too skinny
Equally, gaining an unhealthy amount of weight, leaving me with confidence issues
Dismissing debilitating periods as a normal part of life for women, even when it meant missing work or social occasions
Over the last few years, I have focussed on my health and wellbeing. I am no longer willing to tolerate feeling like crap! It's still a journey - particularly as perimenopause kicks in. But I have noticed the difference consistency makes when it comes to healthy habits.
I exercise daily - helped by the fact my dogs demand walking come rain or shine, so there's no excuse!
I understand how to create balanced meals I love - helped by the Zoe nutrition programme, which was eye opening (I still eat pizza and crisps)
I drink less - because I hate dealing with poor sleep and it makes my perimenopause symptoms worse (I still enjoy a G&T or two at the weekend)
I am in tune with my body and know when I'm pushing myself too hard, when I need to prioritise self-care, or say no to others
I am generally more organised with my time, so I can prioritise healthy habits, such as meal planning
I surround myself with like-minded people who also prioritise their health and wellbeing - this makes such a difference!
